Our Programs. 

Are you curious about what’s around you? Would you like a private guide to show you the hidden gems of the southeast? Would you like a God centered program? That is where Outdoor Nature Adventures (CONA) comes in to show you around. I am a professional interpretive naturalist who provides quality, fun, educational programs at a low cost for all audiences. I am a child of God who will incorporate scripture into programs. School programs are designed to meet the state science standards and are fun, educational, professionally led programs designed to reconnect children while they learn about the outdoor world.

 

Below is a list of our programs that can be tailored to meet the needs of any group.  If you do not see what you are looking for contact us and we can try to meet your needs or find another organization that will satisfy you.  

 

Costs:   $12 per person or $150 for a group of 25 - 30 participants for 1 - 2 hour program.

(program prices are negotiable, but these don’t include park fees and other potential costs)

Outdoor Ministry Programs

Programs are God inspired and combine the natural world with Gods word. God taught most in the outdoors and so am I.

The Unique Plants:

What is so special and unique in the forests that surround us? What treasures are within?

 

Water Discovery:

In this program we will explore the water ecosystem and the many living and non-living creatures that make up this unique area.

 

Natural Connections:

Learn the many interconnections of the natural world while at walking around the great outdoors.

 

Plant Walk:

What are trees and how are they classified? Where do they fit in the natural world and why?

 

Discover the Great Outdoors:

This program goes over what is and isn’t a part of nature. What makes up the world and how we are a part of this world?

 

Wildlife Past, Present, & Future:

What use to be here, what is here, and what will be here in the future?  This can be a presentation or tour of a local historical area.

 

Explorers & Settlers:

Take a look at some of Florida’s early explorers, inhabitants, and owners.

 

Wetlands:

Learn all about wetlands and how they help us in so many ways.

 

Urban Animal Encounters:

Learn what is in this man made environment and how these creatures cope with all the man-made structures.

 

Vertebrate Classification:  

What is a vertebrate and how are they classified? Come learn the many similarities and different vertebrate groups.

 

GreeLiving:

Learn how to make a smaller footprint on our world.  What does it mean to live green and how do we do it? Is it very hard to do? Come find out!

 

Dangerous or Misunderstood:

Come learn all about these misunderstood creatures known as predators and how they are a major component in the natural world.

 

Map and Compass Reading:

Learn how to read a map and use a compass.  Skills will be put to use with a mini course.

 

Nature Through God’s Eyes:

Come see nature through the eyes of God.  What does the bible say about nature and how do we get closer to it?

 

Medicinal Uses: come learn some basic plants to use in the woods.

Nature STEM:

Come do some fun unique stem programs that can only be found in the woods. Build a boat of whats around, see how soil and algae and water are affected by substances and more.

 

*Beginning Off-road Biking:  

Program Length = Depends on trail

An introductory course in off-road biking where you learn riding skills and then take a short bike ride with your new skills.

 

*Guided Naturalist Hike:  

Program Length = Depends on trail

Pick a trail you want to explore and be privately led on an informative professional walk in the woods.

Wilderness School 101:

Learn come tricks to help build your survival skills.

 

Outdoor ministry Courses:  each program will put participants in challenging situations and compare that to Christian living principles.

 

*Park Tour:  

A private tour of a regional area park’s history, culture, and natural features.

Bible skits:

We put you in the stories of the bible and make them come alive.

Group Interpretive Programs

 

Senses Hike - a fun sensory hike through the woods.

 

Florida Visitors - a look back at the many visitors such as the Indians, Spaniards, and other explorers.

 

Tree ID/Plant/Wildflower Walk - takes a look at the many plants that live in this region.

 

Southeastern Animal Evidence - come learn about the many signs that animals leave behind and what they mean.

 

Bird Walk - a beginning level bird program that talks about bird fundamentals.

 

Park Tour - a private tour of area parks history, culture, and nature.

 

Beginning Off-road Biking - an introductory course in off-road biking where you learn how to read a trail and then put your new skills to work on a short ride.

 

Guided Hike - pick a trail you want to explore and be privately led on an informative professional walk in the woods.

 

Urban Animal Encounters – takes a look at the urban interface, how we affect it, and nuisance animals.

 

Green Living – learn how to make a smaller imprint on mother earth and what we can do now to help.

 

Natural Connections – a look at how everything is connected and the way we fit into it.

 

Discover Nature - a fun hands on look at what is and isn't a part of nature.

 

Dangerous or Misunderstood - learn all about misunderstood creatures such as coyotes, foxes, etc, and how to live with them.

 

Invasive Exotic or Native – what are invasives and how do we stop the spread. 

 

Water Discovery - learn all about water through experiments and hands on learning.

 

Spineless Adventure - come discover the many invertebrates that live all around us.

 

Water Conservation - come learn all about water and how we have affected it and what we can do to preserve it.

 

Scout Badges - any badge requirements for any outdoor or nature merit badge for girl or boy scouts.

 

Astronomy Investigations - an introduction into looking at the night sky. 

 

Geocache/GPS fun - come on an outdoor adventure using your GPS to find geocaches on parks around the region.

 

 

Plant Uses - a look at the many uses of some of the area plants.

 

Nature Story Time - come listen to a fun nature story in an outdoor setting and experience the outdoor world.

 

Endangered/threatened - a look at animals who are in trouble and how to help save them.

 

Tree Adventure - a fun look at trees of the area and how to ID a few of them.

 

Saltwater Adventure - a look at the saltwater world and the many critters that call this place home.

 

Reconnecting Kids - a helpful hands on class where you learn exercises, games, and knowledge on how to reconnect people of all types.

 

Reduce Reuse Recycle - a look at how to make a smaller imprint in our world.

 

Navigating the Woods - an introducation into using topography maps and compasses and what to do when your lost in the woods.

 

Creating Backyard Habitats - a how to get started program where participants learn the components of a good habitat.  

 

How Tos (Backpacking, Camping, Wild Skills) - on any outdoor skill that you would like to know more about.

 

Activities can be tailored to meet the needs of your group and the time of the year.  We are available for festivals, reunions, special events, birthdays, and any other group gathering.  Some activities are weather dependent.
